Social Media Policy Statement

At the Fountain Practice, we value open and respectful communication with our patients. Social media can be a helpful tool for sharing information, but we ask that it be used responsibly to ensure the privacy, dignity, and wellbeing of both our staff and patients.

Our Social Media Guidelines:

1. Respect for Privacy

Please do not post comments that identify members of staff or other patients. We are committed to protecting personal information and expect our community to do the same.

2. Sharing Feedback

We welcome all feedback, whether positive or negative, as it helps us to improve our services. However, if you have concerns or complaints, we strongly encourage you to contact us directly so that we can resolve matters in a constructive way.  You can share your thoughts here: Feedback, Compliments and Complaints - Fountain Practice. Alternatively, you may leave a review on the NHS website: Find out how to leave a review of an NHS service - NHS

3. Official Communication

We do not discuss individual patient cases or respond to specific medical concerns via social media. All official communication will be handled through appropriate clinical channels.

4. Monitoring and Moderation

Our social media presence is monitored, and we reserve the right to take action where necessary to protect the confidentiality and wellbeing of our staff and patients.

5. Reporting Concerns

If you come across any content online that you believe misrepresents our practice or breaches privacy, please let us know directly.

Addressing Complaints on Social Media

While we understand that some people may choose to raise concerns publicly via social media, experience has shown that these platforms often lead to unproductive and negative conversations. In some cases, comments have included personal attacks on staff members, which we take very seriously.

If such posts come to our attention, we may contact you to invite a private, face-to-face discussion about your concerns. Please be aware that inappropriate or offensive comments made on social media could be seen as a breakdown in the doctor-patient relationship and may result in removal from our practice list.
