Fitness to fly/travel

GPs are unable to provide fitness-to-fly certificates/letters. Assessing whether a patient is fit to fly is not part of NHS General Medical Services, and GPs are not trained or indemnified to make this decision.
The final decision on whether a passenger can travel rests with the airline. Most airlines have medical advisors who assess passengers with medical conditions and may request medical info in advance.
We can provide a medical summary upon request for you to share with the airline. However, your GP cannot give an opinion on your fitness to fly.
